My hand-carved Copper pendant of the Celtic Ogham symbol for Heather.

•3/4 to 1 inch across,
•1 1/4 inches long
•Hanging at 2 1/4 inches from the wire wrapped bail

The Ogham pendants are approximately 3/4 to 1 inch across, 1 1/4 inches long, and hang at 2 1/4 inches. A beautiful marble bead from Ireland finishes this piece. Leather and vegan cord options, along with antique bronze and copper toned chains, are available at an extra cost.
Please make bead color choice and cord/chain selection at checkout. The Irish marble bead choices are green Connemara Marble, Cork Red, and Kilkenny Black.
The pendant pictured has sold, this will be custom made and vary slightly from the pendant pictured!!

The Druids and ancient Celts were superb botanists. Their herbal sense was incredibly insightful and they utilized every leafy resource available to them. The heather was no different and after trial and error the ancient Celts recognized it served as a great cleansing agent, breaking up blockages found in the body.
Interestingly, brooms were most popularly made by the Celts with heather, another symbol of clearing, cleansing and manifesting purity. Perhaps these associations with purity made it a symbol of promise and good luck in the Highlands. Copper and Bronze jewelry, including pieces with colorful patina, should not be exposed to water. Please do not shower or swim while wearing jewelry as it can drastically change the patina on the metal. All copper and bronze jewelry is treated with a protective spray lacquer to help maintain the appearance of the metal. Normal daily wear can break down the protective barrier in extreme heat and sweat.
Silver jewelry is NOT treated with a protective lacquer. Please use a soft polishing cloth to buff and bring the shine to silver. Do not use harsh chemicals as it will drastically change the patina on the metal.
